It’s end of the year again, and here I am, sitting down and looking back at my “achievements”.
Once again, I’m just glad my little blog managed to survive yet another year. The world of blogosphere has grown bigger but still, my blog’s popularity is somewhat still the same as in previous years, lame~
Nevertheless, blogs aside, what happened for the past 12 months gave me a better insight of what’s going to happen in the future. It was a topsy-turvy journey, a path filled with many uncertainties and all I could do was hope.
January
Looking back at January where I was still recovering from the “nasty fall”, we welcomed CNY with a small gathering at La Bodega.
Also, not forgetting the group dinner at Noble House, which was a blast!
Last but not least, the new addition to Nikon family, the SB-800.
February
One post to describe it all… 29-02-2008.
In short, we celebrated CNY, made my annual visit to FGS, celebrated his and her birthday.
March
Got myself involved in one of the most important days of our country – general election. Generally, I helped oversee the process of voting and the counting of votes. It was tiring job but an interesting experience. Partly because it only happens once every 4/5 years and this is the election where I am eligible to help decide the future of the country.
April
It’s travel time! After weeks of planning, deciding and arguing, we finally took off our trip to HK! It was no mean feat considering the size of our group and also to cover most of the places in just 5 days – I think I’m talented in this. Haha. But all in all, heartfelt thanks to my helpful “assistants”, or else, this won’t be a success trip.
It’s all explained in details here, here, here, here and here.
May
Another month, another destination. Thanks to my kind bosses, we jetted off to Phuket for 3 days of fun and sunshine!
Check out the photos here.
June
A rather quiet month. The only joy was the launch of Coldplay’s fourth LP, Viva La Vida.
July
My birthday but celebrated at the last weekend of June. Thanks heaps. And friends dropped by Ipoh. Drove them around, took quite a few photos which I liked very much.
And I had a short excursion to the Lion City as well.
August
The most happening month, when the Olympic Games finally began. I sat through the much publicised opening games ceremony and it was awesome. There were critics who condemned some of the elements like the CGI fireworks and the little girl’s image. I believe it’s unfair to judge like that given the scale of the event and most importantly, the country’s image. Try organise something like that and you will understand why it has to be perfect.
August’s activities includes eating trip to Bukit Jugra where we finally got our overdue beggar’s chicken meal.
And welcome back to the annual fireworks competition, MIFC 2008 which I went for freaking THREE times.
Guess I’ll stop taking fireworks photos from now on..
Last but not least, road trips; Cameron with my family…
… and Ulu Yam with the prince himself. w00t!
September
Finally bade goodbye to lovely D40, which I bought in April 07 and the reason why it’s being sold off… the arrival of D90. People may have asked why I started off with D40 instead of D80. The answer is simple… I just wanted to see how far can I go.. will it be another on-off hobby or photographer wannabe? Judging from my ever expanding photos in my Flickr, I knew I will never look at photos the same way again.
Probably my ownership of a DSLR camera sparked some interests from people around me; some got their own DSLR and some waiting for best deals to strike.
October
With newly acquired camera and new DSLR kaki(s) to boot, we ventured out for photography sessions – something which I’ve been looking for ever since my first purchase of D40.
Apart from that, I had few road trips; Bukit Tinggi…
… and Genting.
But first, Bukit Tabur where my life was at stake with those dangerous cliffs. One mistake and …
November
Sekinchan! One of the places where I’m dying to go – just because of the green paddy field! I’m happy with that day’s “harvest”!
December
Usually one of the busiest months where we celebrated few birthdays (not blogging about it, just some photos to show) and also where I got the opportunity to shoot a wedding. It was challenging but fun!
Last but not least, the most anticipated musical show, Mamma Mia! My first time watching musical show and I totally immersed myself in the show.
And so, before the year 2008 ticks away, I would like to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
