Sunshine Bay Seafood Restaurant, Tanjung Bungah

Jun 26, 10 at 9:57 pm

During my short stay in Penang, I managed to visit Sunshine Bay Seafood Restaurant located at Tanjung Bungah thanks to one of our friend’s tips. For me, it is quite hard to describe the proper direction to the place but you can always check this site for a more comprehensive and detailed write-ups.

We reached the place at around 7.30pm on a beautiful Saturday evening and it was packed to the max. We managed to secure a table for seven of us and the lady boss recommended some of the dishes for us.

We waited quite a while, probably 20 minutes or so but that’s okay with us because of the overwhelming crowd that day.

Durian Fest at Balik Pulau, Penang

Jun 23, 10 at 12:58 am

I was in Penang for a short getaway last weekend for some good food and good company. One of the highlights from the trip was the durian excursion at Balik Pulau. In fact, if you have not heard about it, this is the place where you can get relatively good durian. Well, I shall leave the fact findings to my friends who hail from Penang as I’m going to talk about the ongoing Durian Fest happening right now at Balik Pulau.

Taman Negara Getaway (2)

Jun 22, 10 at 12:39 am

Quick Info: Taman Negara, which literally means “national park” in Malay, is the world’s oldest tropical rainforest encompassing a total area of 4343 km². The most popular access to Taman Negara is via Kuala Tembeling, which is about 10 minutes drive from Jerantut. The 3 hours boat ride offers you a rich experience of the nature and the exotic scenery. Alternatively, you can also drive to Kuala Tahan, which is the gateway to Taman Negara from Jerantut. The town is easily accessible via the East Coast Expressway (exit Temerloh). After checking in and refreshed ourselves, we returned to LBK for dinner. It wasn’t nice but as long as it fills up my stomach, I am not complaining. In the midst of the dinner, we were shown an introductory video of TN – be warned though, you won’t be able to see most of the things as shown in the video. 😛

Dinner!
Not a nice dinner though…

The sky was pitch-black by the time we finished our dinner. We then waited for the guide who briefed us on that night’s activity. We also had to wait a little bit longer for the river taxi which will bring us across the river to Taman Negara.

28-30 May 2010.

Had to put in the actual date because I tend to post outdated things.

So, the 5 of us crazily signed up for 3D2N package to Taman Negara, Pahang. I have mentioned this place 38920593 times in front of my friends each time they ask for places to travel. The reality is, I have made it finally and it was an awesome trip albeit some misadventures. 🙂

We drove all the way to Jerantut on a slow but lovely Friday morning. Almost got lost in some Felda plantation due to stupid Garmin navigation but emerged unscathed after 30 minutes driving past the darn plantation. Reached NKS Cafe at around noon for registration and lunch which was provided as part of the package. There were a lot of people especially angmohs joining the trip that day.

At NKS Cafe
The package comes with lunch + T-shirt.

Since it was Friday and the shuttle bus which will bring us to Kuala Tembeling jetty not scheduled to depart until 2PM, we drove around the quiet town, shopped a bit before heading back and had some drinks at a nearby coffee shop.

Sunrise, Sekinchan, Syokk!

Jan 13, 10 at 10:54 pm

Date: 12 December 2009
Time: 5AM

It was freaking 5 in the morning. We had a mission of the day – to capture sunrise at Sekinchan.

My last trip to Sekinchan was on 2008, and it was a blast. So, I prayed hard for this trip so that it will be a fruitful one, and guess what, we had another blast!

We already prepared for the worst to come – rain, crops being harvested, etc – all sorts of bad things came across our mind. I told myself not to be disappointed if things turn out unexpectedly.

Anyways, to cut story long short, we reached there at about 7am and the sky already brightened up. Wasting no time, we hurriedly find a place where the crops were not harvested yet and let our creative juice flow along.

One Night in KL

Dec 26, 09 at 7:14 pm

Somehow, without realizing, we ended up at this crappy place for photoshoot but left feeling dejected. And somewhat, we ended up at KL Tower after wandered aimlessly around the city. Without further ado, here are some of the crappy pics taken during that night.

The above photo was added with vintage effects by the way…

If you feeling somewhat crappy after seeing these photos, fret not. It’s meant to be like that. 😛

Next… KL Tower! It has been ages since I caught up with this place. It has progressed commercially – now with AJ Hackett thingy and F1 simulator and whole loads of activities to keep you entertained! (Sorry, they didn’t pay me for this. :P)
