Continuing our next food hunt, we took MTR to Causeway Bay but since we were still full, we decided to check out Hysan Place, a retail/office building that was opened last year. Most importantly, it houses one of the flagship stores that we won’t find in Malaysia, the Apple Store. Spanning three stories, it is HK’s third store and the largest in HK.

From ground to fourth floor in a minute on express escalator. Only at Hysan Place.

After that god-sent lunch, we had some time to kill. A quick search around that area brought us to this special Starbucks outlet located at Sai Yee Street, located just two blocks away from our lunch place.

In its second collaboration with Starbucks, the G.O.D. design team working together with artist Stanley Wong (a.k.a Anothermountainman) developed a 6,000 sqare feet, two-storey concept store.

The store, located within the hustle and bustle of busy Sai Yee Street, is designed with nostalgic memorabilia. A mini movie theatre is also featured and a wall made of mahjong tiles, designed by G.O.D., that reads “good movie upstairs” helps point the customers in the right direction.

Starbucks is located at first floor

We arrived at HK late-ish in the afternoon. After checking in to our accommodation at Stanford Hotel, the first thing that came to my mind was the delicious dim sum, Tim Ho Wan. The shop is located directly behind our hotel, so we headed there in no time. To my horror, the shop was nowhere to be seen. We did a quick search on Google only to discover that the shop has been relocated at another area.

Feeling gutted by the closure of Tim Ho Wan, we quickly looked at our food map, and thus ended up at Dimdimsum Dim Sum Specialty Store located at Tung Choi Street, about 3 blocks away from Tim Ho Wan.

Since it was already past lunch hour, the shop was quite empty and we got our seat easily. Service was prompt and since the ordering system was similar like THW, we had no problems getting our order sorted.

Macau/HK 2013 – Gelatina Mok Yi Kei 莫義記, Casa de Pasto Seng Cheong 城昌饭店

Our limited time in Macau did give us plenty of headache when it comes to food. While spoilt for choice, we also wanted to have something memorable and unique in Macau. There were two options in Taipa, Restaurante Dumbo 小飛象葡國餐 that serves mean Macanese food and Casa de Pasto Seng Cheong 城昌饭店, a Chinese restaurant that serves delicious crab porridge. But before that…

I love Rua do Cunha 官也街. It’s a small street in Taipa but do not underestimate it. It’s full of character and erm.. food too. I first explored this street two years ago and making a return for something that I truly missed – durian ice cream.

Gelatina Mok Yi Kei 莫義記 is the first shop you will see when you come down from the bus and don’t be fooled by the shop’s normal appearance.

My tour mates were still dazed from their first bus ride in Macau, so while waiting for them to ‘recover’, I hurriedly went over to the shop and bought my favourite durian ice cream.

Note: A friend has been ‘chasing’ me for updates, so here goes. 😀 😀

Rua da Felicidade 福隆新街 is just a mere 5 minutes walk from Senado Square. Originally, we had plans to have our lunch there at Loja Sopa Da Fita Cheong Kei 祥記麵家 but due to lack of time, we decided to skip the meal to save time. However, we still went to explore the street before taking bus over to Taipa.
