Saturday… not that I hate it but when it comes to visiting touristy places, I would avoid it like a plague. But do we have a choice here? Sadly no.

Yes, it was Saturday and by the time we hit Ngong Ping cable car, there was already a lengthy queue. Like I said earlier, we didn’t have a choice so we had to queue together with hundreds of tourists. (FYI, you can buy cable car tickets online and skip the waiting line)

Anyway, the purpose of this post is to introduce the new crystal cabin which I think is really cool – but the excitement only lasted for few minutes (for me because it wasn’t scary at all).

Chee Kei @ Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

It was still early for the Symphony of Lights show so we decided to have our dinner early. We were at Tsim Sha Tsui coming down from Star Ferry pier so I decided to stick to my original plan.

Thanks to the review of Chee Kei which I read from here, it wasn’t hard to add this shop to my ever growing food list.

Chee Kei is located at Lock Road, the very same street where I had my dinner two years ago. (Read: Macau Restaurant) It wasn’t hard to find Chee Kei as it is just located right opposite Macau Restaurant.

Tsui Wah Restaurant @ The Peak Galleria, Hong Kong

Tsui Wah Restaurant is akin Kim Gary or Wong Kok in Malaysia, and they have branches all over in HK. We went to the branch located at The Peak, right after our visit to Madame Tussauds.

Besides Tsui Wah, there is also another famous wan tan noodles shop which is just few shoplots away, Mak’s Noodles. Their wan tan noodles are reportedly one of the best in HK. You can also find another branch at Wellington Street, Central.

Anyway, our visit was a planned one as a result of my “intensive” research on food in HK. 😛

Law Fu Kee @ Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

Our third day itinerary was to visit The Peak which is located on the island side. For the sake of convenience, I brought them to this particular shop in Sheung Wan called Law Fu Kee Congee and Noodle Specialist.

Our tummies were already growling so we quickly put down some orders – lean pork with century eggs congee, fish slice congee, wan tan noodles and dumpling noodles. We also ordered a plate of boiled choy sum as well.

All the stuffs were great. Smooth congee, bouncy noodles and crunchy greens made a great morning.

Apologies if the above photos lacked of quality – I had to fend off their hungry hands who were just as quick as me as they were not willing to wait further. Hence, I had to employ all-in-one tactic to save time.

If you happen to be there, remember to order deep fried fish ball with clam sauce as well. We did not try as we were not aware in the first place.

Kam Wah Cafe @ Prince Edward, Hong Kong

Kam Wah Cafe is another highly rated restaurant which reportedly serves awesome if not the best polo bun in HK. We were there on the second day for late afternoon tea and returned again for breakfast on the fifth day of the trip.

This particular shop was part of my second day itinerary. I wouldn’t give it a miss because it is the outright winner in openrice.com. All the food bloggers sang nothing but praises about this shop. What is so special with this shop anyway?
