Tim Ho Wan Dim Sum @ Mongkok, Hong Kong

Our last day in HK began with a hearty dim sum breakfast which is located just a street off from our hotel. It wasn’t part of my plan to bring them to this place because I know the place is always crowded and the queue is just too – insane. Well, my guess is, because it’s the world’s cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant? Nevertheless, no harm trying our luck at it was just nearby.

We reached there at about 10am in the morning on a typical working Tuesday. A small queue already formed in front of the shop. To mention about the shop, it is very very small, probably can sit about 16 people maximum at any given time. I understand from the comments that this is to ensure quality of the food served because every basket of dim sum is made fresh on the spot.

We waited for around 30 minutes – not a problem for us as there is a market just across the road, so we just take our own sweet time to stroll to see what the locals shop at the market. Ended up we bought some fresh vegetables as well!

Back to the story, we got our seats but still have to wait for another 10 minutes just because, like I said, they need time to prepare our orders.

First thing that came to our table was the signature baked bun with bbq pork. The skin is fluffy and crispy at the same time while the fillings just melt in your mouth.
